Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Palmetto, FL
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ communication needs in vibrant, collaborative school environments near Palmetto, FL. This on-site role offers both challenge and fulfillment for two skilled Speech-Language Pathologists seeking to make a meaningful impact on young lives.
You will have the chance to serve students in two different schools, each with its own unique strengths and welcoming atmosphere. One site, under dynamic new leadership, offers you a setting with two low cognitive units and one behavior unit, plus a manageable caseload of approximately 50 students receiving direct therapy, and about 10 on consult, with the potential for a four-day workweek. The second site in West Bradenton presents a collegial environment with an experienced SLP and an outstanding part-time SLPA. Here, you’ll work with diverse PK and ESE classes, and support around 95 students across an inclusive therapy team.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Speech-Language Pathology license required
- Experience in school-based settings or with pediatric caseloads preferred
- Ability to effectively manage both direct therapy and consult services
- Strong collaboration skills to work within multi-disciplinary teams
- Flexibility to adapt to varied school environments and student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy to students in accordance with IEPs
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide consultative support for students as needed
- Collaborate with special education teachers, support staff, and families
- Maintain documentation and track student progress
- Participate in team meetings and school initiatives as an engaged member
This full-time position consists of 35 hours per week, with the possibility of a condensed four-day schedule depending on assignment. Both sites offer an encouraging peer network and opportunities to build lasting professional connections.
