A full-time or part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available within a special education cooperative serving multiple school districts in the Emporia, Kansas area. This contract role runs through the 2025-2026 academic year, offering flexible hours and the opportunity to work onsite supporting students across a range of elementary settings.
Location: Various locations within the cooperative, including Emporia SD, North Lyon County, South Lyon County, Chase County, Madison, Hamilton, and Morris County. Candidates should live within an hour of the main campus in Emporia, KS.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to elementary school students, with caseloads varying from 10-12 students per day to 50-55 students per week
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech and communication disorders in compliance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other education professionals to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, evaluations, and student progress reports
- Participate in cooperative meetings and professional development as required
Qualifications:
- Current Kansas SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience working as an SLP in a school setting with special education students
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches based on student needs
