Speech Language Pathologist in Newark, NJ
Make an immediate impact by providing essential speech and language services to elementary students in a dynamic school setting near Newark, NJ. This full-time, contract opportunity runs through June 25, 2027, with a consistent Monday-Friday schedule from 8:15AM-3:15PM, totaling 35 hours per week.
Your expertise will support a diverse caseload at the elementary level, collaborating closely with educators and families to foster communication and academic growth. You’ll be responsible for conducting evaluations, assessments, and ongoing therapy, utilizing your own testing materials to deliver high-quality, individualized care.
Qualifications:
- Holds current NJ SLP licensure (CCC required)
- Experience working in a school-based SLP role with elementary populations
- Able to independently handle school caseloads, testing, and documentation
- Comfortable working within district guidelines and protocols
- Provides personal transportation and is comfortable commuting to the school location
- Completion of onboarding requirements (TB test, physical, fingerprinting for both agency and district)
- No Clinical Fellowship (CF) or SLPA candidates due to supervision limitations
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to elementary students based on IEPs
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments using personal testing materials
- Collaborate with educators, administration, and families to support student goals
- Maintain accurate records, progress monitoring, and timely documentation
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive, student-focused environment
