School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Jamaica, New York

Provide specialized speech-language pathology services for students with diverse disabilities in a high school setting located in Jamaica, NY. This contract position begins ASAP and spans the full 2025-2026 school year, offering a unique opportunity to impact the communication skills and academic success of young adults with complex needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one speech-language therapy sessions, totaling 55 per week, primarily to students aged 14-21.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to students with disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy (CP), and other genetic disorders.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support each student’s communication goals.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly to inform intervention adjustments and meet compliance requirements.
- Maintain professional standards and adhere to school policies and procedures throughout the contract term.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist certification/license applicable for school-based practice.
- Demonstrated experience working with adolescents and young adults with disabilities, especially ASD and related conditions.
- Ability to conduct effective 1:1 speech therapy sessions with a caseload of approximately 14-21 students.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills in educational settings.
Work Details:
- Location: Jamaica, NY.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (27.5 hours/week).
- Position Type: Contract for the full 2025-2026 school year.
- Client Age Group: High school students aged 14-21 with diverse disabilities.
