Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist in Waterbury, CT
Exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Speech Language Pathologist to work with young learners in a supportive educational environment. This onsite contract role offers a chance to make a real impact with students in Pre-K through 2nd grade who present with mild to moderate disabilities. The assignment spans from January 2026 through April 2026, with the possibility of extending beyond the initial term for the right candidate. Work 37.5 hours each week with a consistent schedule throughout the school year.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Speech Language Pathologist license
- CT Teachers Certification 061 required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Previous experience in school-based settings and pediatric caseloads highly valued
- Skilled in both in-person and teletherapy service delivery
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to the needs of each student
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide direct therapy to students with speech, language, and communication challenges
- Design and modify appropriate therapy plans for individual and small group sessions
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to maximize progress
- Document goals, track progress, and maintain accurate records for each student
- Participate in IEP and team meetings, providing expertise and contributing proactively to student success
- Adapt interventions for a mild to moderate disability caseload, ensuring best outcomes for all learners
