Speech Language Pathologist in Lake Hughes, CA
Make a genuine impact supporting students as an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) working across elementary and high school sites in a diverse TK-12 district. Located near scenic Lake Hughes, this contract opportunity offers fulfilling work in a close-knit educational community serving approximately 3,650 students.
You'll play a key role in helping students achieve their communication and language goals within Rosamond’s supportive school environment. The district is seeking a SLP-CCC professional to work onsite throughout the academic year, from August 10, 2026, to June 4, 2027, covering a caseload with a range of needs from general education to moderate/severe disabilities. Caseloads may be up to 60 students, ensuring you have meaningful opportunities to foster student growth and collaboration with dedicated educators.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid licensure and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Experience in school-based SLP roles, with confidence supporting diverse caseloads (TK-5th and 9th-12th grade)
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Ability to work onsite and adapt to changing needs
- Travel candidates welcome; commitment to in-person support is essential
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy and intervention for students with varied needs
- Complete assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and families
- Maintain accurate records and progress documentation
- Engage in multidisciplinary meetings to address student goals
