In this contract role near Minneapolis, you’ll collaborate closely with school-based SLPs and two dedicated paraprofessionals to foster student growth and communication development throughout the academic day.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting school-based speech-language pathology services (as an SLP or collaborating professional)
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to effectively engage with paraprofessionals, students, and staff
- Experience in middle school or special education classroom settings preferred
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about center-based programming and its unique needs
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Commitment to cultivating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside SLPs in implementing therapy goals in the classroom, adjusting strategies to meet each student’s needs
- Collaborate with two paraprofessionals and special education staff to monitor, document, and support student progress
- Assist in developing and facilitating classroom-based activities that target communication, social, and academic goals
- Maintain daily records and uphold documentation standards in accordance with school guidelines and best practices
- Participate in collaborative planning and team meetings as scheduled
- Maintain a caring approach when addressing diverse student needs, always striving for positive student outcomes
