Qualifications and Desired Background:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Delaware SLP licensure, or eligibility to obtain it
- Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Prior experience with K-6 populations in a school setting strongly preferred
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort with IEP process and integrating into multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy for K-6 students, targeting a variety of communication needs
- Conduct assessments and participate in eligibility determinations, saving dedicated time for compliance and evaluation duties
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and families
- Consult regularly with staff and attendance at meetings, integrating best practices and effective strategies
- Maintain clear, accurate records in alignment with school and state standards
