This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized speech-language services to students in an onsite school setting in Michigan City, IN. The role involves delivering comprehensive therapy and evaluations for students ranging from age 2 to 22, many with moderate to severe disabilities, over the course of a 26-27 week school year with a 35-hour workweek.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing speech-language therapy targeting areas such as assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive and expressive language development
- Conducting diagnostic evaluations and assessments to accurately identify students’ needs
- Creating clear, detailed reports based on assessments and observations
- Developing and maintaining Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives
- Collaborating effectively with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to support students' developmental progress
Qualifications required:
- Must hold or be eligible for an Indiana Professional License (IPLA) as a Speech-Language Pathologist, along with a teacher’s license from the Department of Education (IDOE)
- Preferably 1 to 2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Flexibility and problem-solving aptitude to adapt therapy approaches as needed
