School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Machesney Park, Illinois
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary and middle school students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school-based contract position. Work directly with approximately 35 students across two buildings, making a meaningful difference in their educational journey. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours each week, with working hours of either 7:15 AM to 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM. Immediate start is available and the assignment is set through the end of the school year, with the potential to continue into the next school year if an internal hire does not occur. Your expertise will help foster communication skills essential for student development and success.
Key Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is essential.
- Active Professional Educator License (PEL) and state licensure required.
- Previous experience working in schools as an SLP, particularly with elementary and middle school populations.
- Comfortable managing a caseload of around 35 students across two buildings.
- Demonstrated ability to provide in-person services—virtual SLP experience will not be considered.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions in both pull-out and classroom settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student achievement.
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate documentation, and adjust interventions as needed.
- Support a diverse student population with compassion and culturally responsive practices.
