Step into an impactful role supporting students’ communication success within a vibrant school environment near Long Beach, California. This full-time onsite speech-language pathologist opportunity offers a dynamic, itinerant position spanning 1 to 4 educational sites (with the average caseload split between 2 schools). The assignment runs from August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, operating standard school hours of 7:30am to 4:00pm.
As a valued SLP, you’ll work with caseloads of approximately 55-60 students, providing direct speech and language services to a diverse population across various campuses. While being itinerant ensures a varied daily environment, you won’t be responsible for case management, allowing you to focus on therapy and assessment – each site has dedicated case managers.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist license
- SLP Teaching Credential
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Completion of or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship (CFs welcome, with supervision support accessible)
- Experience with school-based speech therapy preferred, but dedicated new graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Comfort providing assessment and therapy for a diverse caseload
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to assigned students in person
- Conduct evaluations and develop treatment plans
- Collaborate closely with campus teams and special educators
- Maintain comprehensive documentation in accordance with school guidelines
- Engage in ongoing communication with teachers and families
- Utilize assessment materials (budgeted reimbursement provided)
