Elementary K-5 School-Based SLP | Yelm, Washington
Step into a dynamic role supporting elementary students as a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist in a K-5 school environment. This contract opportunity offers diverse experiences with students across various grade levels, allowing you to apply your expertise and make a meaningful impact. Multiple openings are available to serve students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, and there may be opportunities to extend your contribution during the Extended School Year (ESY) period.
As a valued team member, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments
- Creating individualized therapy plans tailored to each student's needs
- Delivering engaging direct and group therapy sessions for children in grades K-5
- Collaborating with educators, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Maintaining clear records and documentation, tracking progress, and providing regular updates
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary teams
- Facilitating inclusive communication strategies within the classroom
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an SLP
- Previous experience with school-age children, especially in elementary grades
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Flexibility to support a range of student needs from K-12 (when needed)
- Familiarity with IEP development and school-based service delivery
This role offers a competitive hourly rate between $36.52 and $50.62, reflecting your valuable expertise and commitment to student growth.
