Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ communication skills! A contract opportunity is now available for experienced Speech Language Pathologists working in K-12 settings. This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through June 2027, with placements available across Grand Blanc, Lansing, Detroit, and surrounding areas. Both SLPs and strong CFYs will be considered—CFYs must hold a Michigan temporary license and Flint locations require an established supervisor.
Candidates should be passionate about serving diverse learners, comfortable navigating the unique challenges faced by urban students, and knowledgeable about appropriate resources for students and their families.
What you’ll need:
- Current Speech-Language Pathology license in Michigan (required for all applicants; CFY: valid temporary license necessary)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Previous experience within school settings (K-12)
- Official university transcripts available prior to submission
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Experience or interest in urban student populations; ability to discuss challenges and resources for this group (particularly for Flint-based assignments)
- Onsite availability preferred; strong, experienced candidates may be considered for virtual/remote roles
What you’ll do:
- Provide speech-language therapy services for students in K-12 environments
- Evaluate and assess student speech and language abilities, develop IEP goals, and deliver culturally responsive interventions
- Maintain timely documentation and collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams and families
- Support students’ success in academic and social settings
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, inclusive school community
