School Speech Therapist | Lakewood, Washington

Step into an engaging school-based role supporting students from preschool through 12th grade as you provide essential speech-language services for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year. This is a full-time contract opportunity, with a manageable K–12 caseload (no more than 50 students), and the chance to make an immediate impact—interviews are being scheduled as soon as possible!
What you’ll bring:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Washington SLP license and ESA Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Credentials as SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY
- Experience or interest in working with school-aged children (preschool–grade 12)
- Strong assessment, intervention, and documentation skills
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
- Dedication to compliance with IDEA, WAC, and IEP requirements
Your key responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations using both standardized and informal assessments
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams for eligibility determination
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), providing direct and indirect therapy
- Address areas such as articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation for IEPs and service logs
- Ensure all practices meet state and district compliance guidelines
- Facilitate consultation and training for school staff
- Engage parents and caregivers, sharing progress and effective strategies for at-home support
- Efficiently organize schedules across several schools and grade levels
