School Speech Language Pathologist - Jersey City, New Jersey
Step into an in-person contract role supporting students from PreK through 12th grade as a Speech-Language Pathologist with your Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC). This assignment starts on October 1, 2026, and is projected through November 20, 2026—with potential to extend through the semester. Conveniently located near Jersey City, NJ, you’ll provide essential services while covering for a colleague on medical leave.
Unique to this opportunity, you’ll have the chance to begin early for a smooth transition, shadowing the current SLP prior to their leave. Your caseload will include approximately 40 students, with some nonverbal individuals who benefit from low-tech AAC devices. Your input will directly empower students’ communication and educational success.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (SLP-CCC)
- Possess current NJDOE SLP certification
- Experience working with PreK–12th grade students
- Competence with low-tech AAC devices greatly preferred
- Must be comfortable with a range of communication needs, including nonverbal students
- Availability for in-person, onsite services (no teletherapy/VOCO)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services directly to students in-person
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Conduct ongoing assessment and monitor progress for speech, language, and communication
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize low-tech AAC supports to facilitate student participation and progress
