A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Jersey City, NJ, starting in Fall 2026. This contract position is designed to cover maternity leave and runs for approximately 12 weeks beginning in September. The role requires full-time availability, with 35+ hours per week, providing vital support to elementary and preschool students across several schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language therapy services to students, including those with high Autism and preschool populations.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for K-5 students.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports to monitor student development.
  • Participate in team meetings and coordinate with educational professionals as needed.
  • Provide onsite services exclusively; remote work is not available for this role.
  • For candidates holding a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), priority consideration will be given.
  • Candidates holding Clinical Fellowship (CF) status may apply, provided they have external supervision arrangements, as district supervision is unavailable.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid New Jersey State Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
  • Possession of the New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) certification is mandatory.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, particularly in school settings with special education populations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • No Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) will be considered.

Locations include:

  • Matthew Jago School #28, Sewaren, NJ: Elementary school serving K-5 with a high Autism and preschool population.
  • Kennedy Park School #24, Iselin, NJ: Elementary school serving K-5 with a similar student population.
  • One additional school location to be determined based on program needs.
