Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Irvine, CA
A rewarding short-term opportunity awaits for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist inspired to support student communication and development. This full-time contract runs October 5, 2026 through December 18, 2026, providing maternity leave coverage in a vibrant educational setting. Serving elementary sites with a mild-to-moderate caseload, you’ll work onsite with paid administrative time and the support of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy to approximately 45 students in transitional kindergarten through 6th grade, including those with autism spectrum needs
- Complete comprehensive assessments, documentation, and IEP management in compliance with state and federal standards
- Work closely with families, special education staff, and interdisciplinary professionals
- Participate in and contribute meaningfully to IEP meetings
- Engage in team meetings and benefit from paid indirect time
- Foster positive student outcomes and communication progress
Qualifications:
- Current California Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility
- Successful completion of background check and fingerprinting prior to start
- Experience with school-based caseloads, especially elementary (TK-6) populations, strongly preferred
- Knowledge of IEP process and confident communication skills
- Previous work with students with autism a plus
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility in multi-site environments
