Speech Language Pathologist Fulltime
Make a difference supporting students’ communication needs in a vibrant educational environment near Hartford, CT. An immediate contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to work with Pre-K through 12th grade students. This position serves a diverse caseload, including students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, within a collaborative and resourceful team.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure and (if applicable) Department of Education certification to practice as an SLP in Connecticut
- Experience supporting children with ASD and/or complex communication needs
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in school-based SLP services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to organize, manage, and document student progress efficiently
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ speech, language, and communication abilities using standardized tools and clinical observation
- Develop and implement IEP goals in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other specialists
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy tailored to individual student needs, including those with ASD
- Maintain thorough records and progress notes as required by school/district guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, IEP conferences, and ongoing professional development
- Serve as a resource for school staff and families regarding communication strategies and supports
