School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Round Lake, Illinois
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students’ communication development for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role (approximately 33.25 hours weekly) is based on-site near the Round Lake, IL area and runs from August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027. You’ll work closely with educators and families to provide essential speech-language services within a supportive school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Active state licensure as required by Illinois for school-based SLPs
- Experience working in pediatric or school settings is highly valued
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and individualized education planning skills
- Effective communicator, with the ability to collaborate with teachers, other specialists, and family members
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and evaluations to identify students who need speech and language support
- Develop and implement individual and group therapy sessions based on IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and ongoing student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing insight and recommendations for student needs
- Educate school staff and parents regarding communication disorders and best practices for support
