School Speech Language Pathologist - Gurnee, Illinois
Make a lasting impact on students’ lives as a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist delivering in-person services throughout the academic year. This contract opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027, offering you a full-time schedule of approximately 33.25 hours per week. You’ll collaborate with educators to evaluate and treat students with communication and speech disorders, providing essential support in the school environment near Gurnee, IL.
Your background and expertise in school-based speech therapy will be vital in helping students achieve meaningful progress. You’ll use your knowledge to assess, diagnose, and implement intervention plans conducive to student success, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of school professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Illinois SLP licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required
- Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
- Proficient in assessment, report writing, and developing therapy plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students for speech, language, and communication difficulties
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized therapy plans
- Work in partnership with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress
- Maintain thorough records and documentation as required by state and district standards
- Lead individual and group therapy sessions on campus
- Consult as part of the IEP team, contributing to meetings and goal-setting
