As an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in helping students overcome speech, language, and communication challenges that impact their educational success.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct speech-language screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations for students referred for special education services.
- Assess and address needs in speech, language, voice, fluency, articulation, pragmatic language, and overall communication.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans and IEP goals, ensuring compliance with Indiana Article 7, IDEA, and related regulations.
- Deliver both direct and consultative speech-language therapy across various settings (individual, small group, classroom).
- Maintain accurate documentation, including therapy notes, progress reports, Medicaid billing, and evaluation reports.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers on intervention plans and accommodations.
- Present recommendations to support students’ classroom participation, including assistive technology and communication strategies.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, including Case Conference Committee and IEP meetings.
- Provide consultation and training to staff and families on communication development, intervention methods, and support strategies.
- Travel as needed between school sites, supporting students from preschool through high school.
What You’ll Bring:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited program.
- Active Indiana Speech-Language Pathology license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Strong understanding of communication disorders, school-based special education procedures, and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent organizational, assessment, recordkeeping, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and engage confidently with students of all ages.
- Previous school-based experience is a plus, but motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.
