Qualifications & Experience
- Active Michigan SLP license required; CFYs must have a temporary license (or proof of completed application for next school year consideration)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and official university transcripts required
- Experience in school settings and knowledge of strategies to support urban youth and their families is valued
- Comfort working onsite and in-person at multiple district locations
- SLP-CCC preferred, though strong CFY candidates with established supervision may be considered
- Strong communication, teamwork, and recordkeeping skills are a must
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and group speech/language therapy to diverse K-12 students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate therapy strategies into classroom routines
- Develop IEP goals, participate actively in IEP/MET meetings, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and deliver evidence-based written reports
- Support AAC system implementation, training both students and families
- Offer professional development for school personnel on language development
- Manage therapy supplies and travel between multiple assigned sites as necessary
