As you take on this role, you’ll expand your expertise by working closely with a range of student communication needs, deepening your knowledge with each unique case, and contributing meaningfully to student success. Supervising SLPAs will allow you to grow into a leadership role, supporting peers in an ever-evolving school environment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) held for at least 2–3 years
- Demonstrated experience in school-based SLP roles (minimum 2–3 years post-certification)
- Comfort providing teletherapy and in-person services
- Experience in pediatric healthcare settings preferred
- Willingness to supervise SLPAs and manage multiple caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise up to 3 SLPAs, guiding treatment planning, documentation, and progress monitoring
- Conduct special education eligibility evaluations (initial and re-evaluation)
- Attend IEP meetings, present evaluation data, and provide recommendations
- Write, update, and maintain IEPs for all assigned students
- Adapt swiftly to fluctuating caseloads based on student needs
