This rewarding opportunity is based just outside Evanston, with a single-site assignment serving middle school students. In this role, you’ll focus on a manageable caseload (15-20 students) with mild to moderate disabilities, collaborating closely with the onsite SLP to provide exceptional speech and language services.
Position Overview:
- Schedule: 2-3 days per week, totaling 13-19.5 hours weekly, aligned with the academic calendar (August 19th to May 28th)
- Caseload: Middle school-aged students
- Support: Work alongside an experienced onsite SLP
- Work Location: One school setting for continuity and relationship-building
Key Qualifications:
- Current PEL with LBS 1 certification required
- Experience with school-based speech therapy preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Understanding of mild to moderate diagnoses in middle school-aged children
- Ability to adapt therapy to individual and group needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services tailored to IEP goals
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and the onsite SLP to optimize student outcomes
- Provide documentation and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
- Support inclusive education and advocate for student needs
