Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Evanston, IL
Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist in a dynamic school setting, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children from PreK through Grade 8. This full-time, in-person contract position runs from July 20, 2026, through June 11, 2027, providing services across multiple schools in the greater Chicago area, including North Chicago and Waukegan.
Your fluency in Spanish and English will enable you to work closely with a diverse student population and provide critical language interventions that support academic and social success.
Qualifications:
- Current Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license for Illinois
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Demonstrated experience in a school-based SLP role
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)
- Previous experience working with PreK–8th grade students preferred
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Commitment to working in-person throughout the contract period
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group speech-language therapy services to students
- Conduct evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other related service staff to support student success
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and effectively communicate progress and recommendations
- Foster an encouraging and culturally responsive learning environment
