You’ll divide your time between two high schools and one elementary school, with half your week at the supportive Westmoreland campus (focused on special education) and the other half assisting students’ social skills development at Lane Schools. This structured, varied assignment lets you collaborate directly with on-site professionals like special educators and paraprofessionals, all while benefiting from virtual and in-person SLP team support.
Take on a fulfilling caseload of around 33 students, primarily in life skills programs, with opportunities to apply or gain experience in feeding and swallowing (safe eating) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Even if you’re newer to these areas, training is available—making this a terrific setting to deepen your expertise and confidence.
Qualifications:
- SLP license with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Prior school-based SLP experience preferred
- Interest or experience in life skills, feeding/swallowing, and AAC (willingness to train is valued)
- Strong independent work ethic and collaborative mindset
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language services to life skills students in high school and elementary settings
- Support safe eating and AAC needs as part of IEP goals
- Coordinate with SLP peers virtually/monthly and work daily with in-person educational teams
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive student experience
