A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a focus on school-based services is needed for a contract position in Elk Grove, CA. This role involves working within a school setting to assess and treat speech and language disorders in children and adolescents, providing targeted therapy to support their communication development.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students with speech and language challenges
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs
- Provide direct therapy sessions aimed at achieving defined speech and language goals
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress consistently
- Collaborate effectively with educators, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure cohesive support
- Engage and educate families in strategies to aid their child’s communication skills
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in California
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Active approval from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology in California
