Speech Language Pathologist in Des Plaines, IL
Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Speech Language Pathologist, supporting middle school students in a dynamic school setting near Des Plaines, IL. This contract role runs from September 29, 2026 to June 9, 2027, with both full-time (37.5 hours/week) and part-time options available to fit your schedule. Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid IL Professional Educator License with SLP endorsement
- Active Illinois SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required
- Experience with school-age students, ideally middle school
- Adaptability to support students at one or multiple school sites, as caseloads and locations may vary
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to a caseload of approximately 45 students, adhering to state workload models
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff
- Conduct assessments, write reports, and maintain accurate documentation
- Support students’ language, articulation, fluency, voice, and social communication skills within a supportive school environment
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams
