School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Des Plaines, Illinois
Make a real difference in the lives of middle schoolers as a full-time Speech Language Pathologist this upcoming school year. This contract role is set for the 2026-2027 academic year, starting September 29, 2026 and concluding June 9, 2027. Flexibility is available for both full-time (37.5 hours/week) and part-time arrangements, and you will work exclusively on site.
In this position, you’ll support a varied caseload—typically around 45 students—across one or possibly multiple middle school campuses. Your bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English will help bridge communication and provide much-needed services to a diverse student body. The specific caseload and school assignments will be determined based on district needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License with SLP endorsement
- Current Illinois SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Bilingual in Spanish & English required
- Experience within school settings (middle school preferred)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide direct therapy for students with speech, language, and communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Conduct screenings and evaluations as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and support students’ overall educational success
