School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Des Plaines, Illinois

The assignment is located near Des Plaines, IL, covering maternity leaves with two distinct start dates: late October/early November through December 18, 2026, and a second position from December 2026 through May 2027.
You’ll work with diverse caseloads, including middle and elementary school students for the first leave, and high school students for the second. This is a fantastic chance to hone your clinical skills and provide direct support to students during crucial stages of their education.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Active Illinois SLP license
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
- Open to strong SLP Clinical Fellows (CFs)
- Previous school-based experience is a plus
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, communication, or swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to promote student progress and inclusion
- Maintain accurate records and timely documentation in accordance with school district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the multidisciplinary team approach
