School Speech and Language Pathologist | Thornton, Colorado
A full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in the Denver area, specifically serving Thornton, CO. This contract position focuses on providing speech therapy services within elementary school settings, specifically at Arapahoe Ridge Elementary.
This role is ideal for licensed Speech Language Pathologists, including Clinical Fellowship Candidates eager to gain hands-on experience in a school-based environment. Please note that Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are not eligible for this position. The assignment is full time, over 35 hours per week, and runs through May 22, 2026, with an anticipated start date as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech and language therapy to elementary-aged students (typically ages 5-11)
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students’ communication goals
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain documentation in compliance with school district standards
- Participate in team meetings and progress monitoring to ensure effective intervention
- Adhere to all applicable state and district licensure and certification requirements
Qualifications:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure
- Active Colorado Department of Education (DOE) certification for school-based practice
- Experience or eagerness to work within a school setting, supporting diverse student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills essential for working with multidisciplinary teams
