School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Pediatric Focus – Davenport, FL
Provide vital speech and language therapy services to PreK through 5th-grade students in a school setting, helping young learners develop essential communication skills in a supportive, consistent environment. This contract position offers a steady Monday-to-Friday schedule with no session cancellations common in clinical or home-based roles, ensuring reliable hours and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver on-site speech and language interventions tailored to children aged 3-11 years.
- Incorporate communication devices and visual supports to address sensory needs and behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop individualized goals that promote student progress.
- Manage caseload effectively with additional on-site support staff availability.
- Maintain compliance with all district policies and professional regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active Florida Department of Health SLP license.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in elementary schools, PreK, and preschool settings.
- Skilled in using augmentative communication devices and behavioral strategies is highly desirable.
Location:
- Based in Davenport, Florida, serving a school district in Lake County.
- Local candidates preferred; relocation or travel options available for the 2025/2026 school year.
