Located near Chicago, IL, this contract opportunity offers you the chance to support students ages 3-21 with severe emotional disabilities, delivering both group (no more than 10 per classroom) and highly individualized 1:1 therapy.
You’ll enjoy a consistent weekday schedule of 8:15 AM to 2:15 PM, with extended school year hours Monday through Thursday, ensuring work-life balance. This role begins as soon as possible and continues through the extended school year.
Requirements:
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) License
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Strong IEP writing proficiency
- Onsite interviews required
- No SLPAs or CFY candidates considered
Desired Experience:
- Prior work with children and young adults ages 3-21, particularly those with severe emotional disabilities
- Experience providing both group and 1:1 therapy
- Familiarity with therapeutic day school environments and specialized caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy in both group and individual settings
- Develop, document, and maintain accurate IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and allied professionals to support each student's unique needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
