Ideal candidates will have:
- A current Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license (ASHA CCC required; Clinical Fellows are not eligible)
- Previous school-based SLP experience
- Skills to manage a K-12 caseload, adapting therapy strategies for varying age groups and needs
- Commitment to fully onsite services; virtual or remote work is not available
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, and implementing individualized speech and language therapy for students
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations to identify students’ speech, language, or communication needs
- Developing and updating IEPs in alignment with school and state requirements
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and other specialists to promote student progress
- Maintaining accurate records and progress notes, ensuring compliance with all school district standards
