Special Education Teacher

Special Education Teacher – Full-Time | 7th–8th Grade
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time, school-based position supporting students in 7th–8th grade.
Position Details:
- Full-Time: 32.5 hours per week
- Grade Levels: 7th–8th grade
- Setting: Onsite, school-based
- Virtual: No virtual services; the district does not offer virtual positions
- Credentials: Active Connecticut Special Education credentials required
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in accordance with their IEPs
- Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and develop appropriate goals and accommodations
- Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
- Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Special Education credentials required
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with middle school students and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work onsite; virtual/teletherapy candidates will not be considered
