Pediatric School Speech Pathology | Bear, Delaware
A contract opportunity is available for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to serve multiple onsite locations, including preschool programs, elementary schools, and special programs within a vibrant educational district near Bear, DE. This role offers a dynamic caseload working with pediatric populations across various settings such as onsite preschools, itinerant assignments at local daycares, and specialized schools focused on developmental disabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering comprehensive speech-language therapy services to students ranging from preschool age through to young adulthood
- Managing caseloads of diverse students with varying communication needs and developmental levels
- Collaborating with educators, therapists, and families to create individualized treatment plans and support academic success
- Providing services in different environments, including traditional school settings, itinerant locations, and specialized programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Maintaining accurate documentation and progress monitoring for all caseload students
Typical caseload estimates by setting:
- Preschool: Approximately 30-35 students, including onsite preschool programs and itinerant therapy at local daycares
- Elementary: Approximately 50-55 students, with assignments generally based at one school building, sometimes shared among multiple SLPs
- Special Programs (The Brennen School): Approximately 25-30 students, serving preschool/toddler through age 22, specializing in Autism support within a dedicated setting
Qualifications and experience sought:
- Valid SLP licensure with experience in pediatric speech-language pathology
- Comfort working across a range of educational and clinical settings, including teletherapy is a plus
- Experience or interest in working with diverse pediatric caseloads, including students with Autism
- Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
