Speech and Language Pathologist - Bakersville, NC
Bring your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist to a dynamic school-based contract assignment starting August 6, 2026, and running through June 2, 2027. This opportunity is ideal for a professional with their CCC and an active North Carolina SLP license who wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students across a variety of ages and settings.
You will serve approximately 40-50 students, primarily in grades K-5 but with potential to work with pre-K through 12th grade. The position is based out of an office at Cane River Middle School, with responsibilities spanning three school sites and including occasional service delivery to Headstart and a local private school student.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current ASHA CCC preferred
- Valid North Carolina SLP license required
- Completion of DHHS Pre-K background check
- Prior school experience is a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with ECATS and IEP processes is beneficial
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs
- Accurately document services and progress notes in ECATS
- Complete all necessary paperwork for IEPs; for Speech Impaired-only students, assume case manager duties including organizing and facilitating IEP meetings
- Collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to support student progress
- Adapt service delivery to meet a range of developmental and linguistic needs
Assignment Details:
- Contract position: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Manage a diverse caseload spanning K-5 as well as pre-K and older students as needed
- Travel between three school sites, including Headstart
