School Speech Language Pathologist - Albany, New York
Seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) to support preschool students in a collaborative, year-round contract role. This position is full time (37.5 hours/week) and based onsite northwest of Schenectady, providing essential services in a welcoming educational environment near Albany, NY. You’ll have flexibility with available start dates—either July 27 or September 8—running through the new school year.
In this role, you’ll be working with a preschool caseload presenting a range of communication needs. You’ll focus on supporting non-verbal students, facilitating speech improvements, and addressing developmental delays. Your expertise will make a real impact on children’s learning and communication skills during a crucial period of development.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC required)
• Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
• Strong understanding of early childhood speech and language development
• Commitment to working onsite (this is not a remote or hybrid opportunity)
• Excellent interpersonal skills to partner with families, educators, and support staff
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech-language and communication disorders in preschool students
• Tailor and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address each student’s needs
• Maintain accurate case records, documentation, and progress notes
• Communicate regularly with caregivers and educators regarding progress
• Contribute to a positive, supportive classroom and school culture
