Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist | Converse, Texas
Provide specialized Speech-Language Pathology services within an inpatient rehabilitation environment focused on comprehensive patient recovery. This contract role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative setting with a multidisciplinary therapy and nursing team dedicated to delivering high-quality rehabilitative care.
Location: The assignment is based in Converse, TX, at a 32-bed inpatient rehab unit located on the 3rd floor of a modern hospital facility. The unit supports an active team of about 35 therapists and 50 nurses, emphasizing integrated patient care. The setting is equipped with therapeutic technologies such as H200, L300, and BURT, with documentation managed via Meditech EMR.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed Speech-Language Pathology evaluations and administer inpatient rehab treatments tailored to patient needs
- Facilitate activities of daily living (ADLs) alongside patient therapy plans
- Collaborate closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and rehabilitation aides ensuring cohesive patient management
- Demonstrate adaptability by working within a team environment and flexibility in scheduling, including a minimum of two weekend shifts per four-week period
- Adhere to dress code policies, wearing black scrub pants and olive scrub tops
Qualifications and Experience:
- Basic knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation is required; candidates lacking this will not be considered
- Initiative and willingness to flexibly respond to unit needs as a team player
- Prior experience in inpatient rehab is preferred, enhancing candidacy
- Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Outgoing, flexible, and knowledgeable demeanor ideal to fit the unit culture
