Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Therapy - Salinas, California
A school-based Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is open for the 2025-2026 school year in Salinas, CA, serving a high school setting. This full-time, contract assignment runs for the full school year, Monday through Friday, and requires in-person work with students in grades K-12.
The role involves providing comprehensive speech and language services, including assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for students with communication impairments. Candidates will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support students’ communication needs to foster their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech, language, and auditory screenings and evaluations for students referred for special education.
- Provide consultative and advisory services to school staff regarding speech and language concerns.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to share assessment findings and contribute to educational planning.
- Maintain ongoing communication with school personnel, families, and healthcare providers about student progress.
- Assist staff in developing effective language programs tailored to classroom and community contexts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active California Speech Language Pathologist License (SLP-CCC preferred).
- Experience in school-based speech-language pathology or related pediatric healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of special education processes, disability categories, and assessment procedures.
- Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and effective consultation.
- Commitment to working with students with special education needs in a supportive environment.
