About the Role

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in helping students improve their communication abilities, access educational services, and achieve greater independence. You will work closely with educators, families, related service providers, and support staff to create meaningful outcomes for students across various developmental stages.

This role offers a unique opportunity to serve a broad population ranging from early intervention through transition-aged young adults.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations
  • Identify communication disorders and determine educational impact
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and therapy goals
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services
  • Deliver consultative and indirect services as appropriate
  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and team meetings
  • Contribute to eligibility determination and educational planning
  • Develop and monitor IEP goals and objectives
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
  • Complete required documentation, progress reports, and service logs
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
  • Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and communication supports
  • Support students across educational, social, and functional communication environments

Student Population

The selected SLP may work with individuals ranging from birth through age 26, including:

  • Early intervention populations
  • Preschool-aged children
  • Elementary students
  • Middle school students
  • High school students
  • Transition-aged young adults

Areas of Clinical Experience Preferred

Candidates with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Articulation and phonological disorders
  • Expressive and receptive language disorders
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Social communication deficits
  • Fluency disorders
  • Voice disorders
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
  • Developmental delays
  • Intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Pragmatic language disorders
  • Early childhood communication development

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active Michigan Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility for licensure
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • Clinical Fellowship candidates encouraged to apply
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to student-centered services and educational outcomes
