Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Simi Valley, California
Seeking a skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide vital therapy services to K-6 students within a supportive school setting. This opportunity is ideal for an SLPA who is fluent in Spanish and passionate about making a meaningful impact among elementary students with mild to moderate communication needs.
Schedule:
- 35 hours per week
Key Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA licensure
- Minimum one full school year of prior experience as an SLPA
- Professional fluency in Spanish (required)
- Experience supporting children in elementary grades, particularly K-6
- Demonstrated ability to manage an average caseload of 55 students
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators and families
- Adaptability and excellent organizational skills in a dynamic environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy interventions to K-6 students as directed by the supervising SLP
- Support students presenting with mild to moderate speech and language needs within the classroom and designated therapy environments
- Record accurate data and maintain detailed documentation for each student’s progress
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and administrative staff to support student outcomes
- Communicate effectively with families and contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt therapy interventions to meet diverse cultural and linguistic needs, leveraging Spanish language skills to maximize support
