This contract opportunity focuses on individuals with swallowing and communication disorders, requiring advanced clinical intervention and a collaborative, patient-centered approach.
Schedule Options:
- Tuesday through Saturday
- Wednesday through Sunday
- Saturday through Wednesday
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Valid California license to practice speech pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proven experience in inpatient acute care, particularly med/surg dysphagia therapy and Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS)/Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies (VFSS)
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive dysphagia and communication assessments for adult inpatients
- Provide evidence-based therapy, including swallow evaluations and interventions for med/surg populations
- Perform and interpret videofluoroscopic swallow studies in collaboration with radiology and interdisciplinary care teams
- Develop, implement, and adjust patient-centered treatment plans
- Maintain accurate therapy documentation and participate in care planning meetings
- Educate patients, families, and staff on therapy protocols and communication strategies
