Speech Therapy Assistant in Universal City, TX
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school-based setting near Universal City, TX. This on-site role stretches across two campuses, engaging both high school and middle school populations. Your week will be divided between two schools, providing services to a diverse student group—grades 6-12—while collaborating closely with educational teams and speech-language pathologists. Services are scheduled efficiently, resulting in fewer therapy minutes than the overall caseload numbers may suggest.
Qualifications:
- Current, valid Texas SLPA license required
- Preferred (but not required): Bilingual in Spanish—monolingual candidates will be assigned accordingly
- Previous experience in schools is valued, but all levels considered
- Capable of managing a dynamic caseload with professionalism and organizational skill
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language support services to students in high school (grades 9-12) and middle school (grades 6-9)
- Collaborate with supervising SLPs and educational staff to develop and carry out treatment plans
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation and meet all compliance requirements
- Adapt service delivery to students’ individual needs, providing equitable care
- Travel between two campuses within the school week
- Complete additional district onboarding forms promptly upon offer
