Step into an opportunity to make a difference supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a dynamic school environment. As part of a collaborative educational team, you’ll help empower young learners by providing vital communication support while strengthening your skills in a rewarding setting.

This contract role centers on working three days each week at an elementary site, with the position available from ASAP through the end of the school year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
  • Previous experience in a school setting, preferably working with elementary-aged students
  • Solid understanding of speech and language developmental milestones
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, educators, and families
  • Ability to follow therapy plans developed by an SLP and adapt as needed
  • Organizational skills to document progress and maintain accurate records

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students, implementing speech and language therapy activities under the supervision of a licensed SLP
  • Assist in conducting screenings and assessments
  • Foster positive relationships with students to see growth in their communication abilities
  • Keep detailed and confidential student progress notes
  • Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP, teachers, and parents to ensure cohesive support
  • Utilize creative and engaging techniques tailored to elementary learners
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment
