Travel School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - Santa Clarita, California
A Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed for a travel position in Santa Clarita, CA, supporting school-based speech-language pathologists (SLPs). This role runs from August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a 30-hour workweek.
In this position, the SLPA will assist SLPs by supporting their caseloads, which typically include approximately 45 students. It is important to note that SLPAs do not carry their own caseloads but help facilitate therapy and administrative tasks under the supervision of licensed SLPs. Flexibility is essential, as assignments may vary throughout the school year based on district needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting licensed SLPs in delivering speech and language therapy services to students
- Preparing materials and setting up therapy sessions
- Documenting therapy progress and maintaining records as directed
- Collaborating with school staff and SLPs to support effective service delivery
- Adapting to changing school site assignments and schedules
There are two potential positions available:
- Position 1: Monday through Wednesday at one high school; Thursday and Friday at another high school’s ATP Program
- Position 2: To be determined
This role provides the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic school setting while supporting students' communication development.
Qualified candidates should hold current SLPA certification and demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and strong communication skills.
