Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language & Hearing, or Communication Disorders
- Prior work in a school environment or as a paraprofessional preferred
- Background or training in language or articulation therapy is advantageous
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening
- Positive, adaptable, and collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Eagerness to learn new strategies and utilize diverse therapy techniques
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out intervention programs under SLP supervision to increase speech skills
- Observe, collect, and score assessment information to monitor student progress
- Support the SLP during student assessments and parent meetings
- Prepare documentation such as evaluations, progress reports, and IEP materials
- Communicate with teachers, parents, and professionals regarding student goals
- Escort students to therapy sessions and participate in relevant meetings
