An experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is sought to provide essential services for a leave coverage assignment within a vibrant school community in the greater St. Louis area. This position is on-site and offers the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and make a lasting impact on students’ growth and success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Missouri SLPA license required
- Recent experience supporting school-aged populations, preferably in elementary settings
- Knowledge of best practices for speech and language interventions within school environments
- Comfortable working collaboratively with certified SLPs, educators, and families
- Strong interpersonal, documentation, and time management skills
- Must be available for fingerprinting and prompt completion of district credentialing documentation (TCN submission and contractor forms)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language support to elementary-aged students under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Assist in implementing IEPs, tracking student progress, and maintaining up-to-date records
- Engage with teachers, staff, and families to ensure continuity of care and generalization of skills
- Adapt and use engaging materials suitable for various learning needs
- Communicate effectively with supervising SLP and educational staff regarding student performance and needs
This full-time, on-site contract runs from ASAP through mid-October, with 37.5 hours per week assigned to a single elementary campus. You’ll be covering an FMLA leave, with the possibility—though not guaranteed—of moving into a longer-term position based on district needs.
