Step into a rewarding contract position making a direct impact in educational settings as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This full-time opportunity runs through the academic year, offering 35 hours per week on-site—remote assignments are not available. You’ll work Monday to Friday, assigned to one of several school sites serving a diverse student population. Your role will focus on providing direct speech and language services, with caseloads ranging from traditional elementary to more specialized center schools supporting students with severe needs.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Florida Department of Health SLPA license is essential.
- At least 2 years as an SLPA, including a minimum of 6 months with school-based experience.
- Proven ability to manage a K-12 caseload and deliver direct speech services.
- Familiarity with school-based documentation and collaborative interventions.
- Ability to complete mandatory fingerprinting per credentialing requirements. Prior prints through the AHCA Clearinghouse may expedite your clearance process.
What You’ll Do:
- Work one-on-one or in small groups, delivering speech/language interventions per IEP goals.
- Collaborate with SLPs, teachers, and support staff to foster student success.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and session notes.
- Communicate effectively with faculty and families as part of the school community.
- Adapt strategies and supports based on student needs and caseload demands.
