An opportunity is available for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to contribute full-time support in a K-12 school setting from August 11 through May 28 (2026/2027 school year). This position, located in Peyton, CO, offers flexibility regarding site assignment with one or two nearby locations less than a mile apart, accommodating your preferences.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program
- Current SLPA licensure or certification per state requirements
- Experience working with children or students in educational or clinical settings preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
- Familiarity with literacy interventions and phonemic awareness strategies
- Experience with progress monitoring tools and data collection systems
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks
- Commitment to building strong, positive relationships with students and staff
- Flexible, proactive, and student-centered approach
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy support to K-12 students under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Implement individualized therapy plans consistent with IEP goals
- Assist in data collection and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support students’ communication needs
- Participate actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities
